History & Values

We’ve got history—and values, too.

The most important thing? We value you.

At Capitol Lakes, we’ve been proudly serving seniors from Madison and beyond since our founding in 1975 by Methodist Retirement Services. We are a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. That means we reinvest every cent of profit back into our community. You’ll see that in front of your own eyes as we continually expand services and make improvements to our campus.

Back in 2008, Capitol Lakes joined the Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) family of communities. At that time, we underwent extensive state-of-the-art renovations and remodeling. People noticed. That very next year, we won a Silver Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin, Inc. as a Restoration/Renovation Project of Distinction. Our mission at Capitol Lakes is to continue enriching lives as a premier continuing care retirement community.
