You’d never make a big purchase decision without reading customer reviews first. We get it—we wouldn’t either. So we’re not going to go on and on about how remarkable Capitol Lakes is. Instead, we’ve asked our residents to tell you what they love about living here. After all, they know us better than anyone.

It’s the location.

Morris & Carolyn

Morris and Carolyn

Morris loves to get outside and walk whenever he can—and our location is perfect for perambulating. “Living in Madison, being downtown is wonderful. It’s urban but also has parks and green spaces to explore, and I love that.” He also enjoys our heated pool in the winter months when he’s unable to stroll outdoors. And he’s a member of the Breakfast Club; they meet every morning in our Henry Street Café. “It’s so nice to just catch up and laugh, and enjoy the morning together. It’s a great way to start the day.”

It’s the people.

Pete and Ruthie

Ruthie is thrilled that she and her husband, Pete, moved to Capitol Lakes while they’re still young enough to enjoy doing things with their new friends. According to both of them, “We didn’t lose friends by moving here, we just expanded our circle. There’s nothing the people here wouldn’t do for us, and in turn there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for them.”

It’s the activities (so many activities!)

Ellen and Ruthie

Ellen

Ellen and husband, Doug, love living downtown in the hub of activity. But their social life inside our community is what they’re really drawn to. Ellen takes exercise classes (pictured on the right with friend Ruthie in our wellness center) and participates in the garden and landscaping committee. But that’s not all—far from it. “We enjoy the classes, movies and music programs that are available, and cherish the many friends we’ve made."

It’s the friendliness.

Marty and Catherine with dog Buddy

Marty was already coming downtown to exercise at our Aquatic & Wellness Center when the couple decided to move in. Besides enjoying downtown and all its conveniences, Catherine and Marty quickly made connections with other residents. Both of them agree, “This is a really friendly, welcoming community, and we think that’s important. This isn’t just a space to live, it’s a way to live.”
